My Dad!
I went home recently for a family picnic. My parents and sisters live about 45 minutes away from me so we don't get together as much as I would like. Of course, I took a bunch of pictures. When I was looking through them, I found this great photo of my dad. He just looks so strong and handsome. Steadfast. That is how he has been my whole life! He is technically my step-dad, but to me he is just dad! Everything you see here came from the yummy August kit over at The Nook. It has great colors and awesome chipboard! The journaling says it all: I know that you vividly remember the day I first called you Dad. In my memory, that is all I have ever known you as. Many men are fathers, but being a dad is what really counts. You were there, called me your own, loved me! They say that blood is thicker than water, but I think that love is the thickest of all. Thanks for being the best dad. I love you!
I thank God for him!
Still gets me - I'm all teary eyed this time too!! Such a wonderful testament of love for a man that seems to be quite extraordinary.

ReplyDeleteThis is so amazing and beautiful!!! Love this!!!
ReplyDeleteThe journaling on this is beautiful Staci...I hope you show your dad this :)
ReplyDeleteRe-read what I wrote the other day....hope I didn't come off as snobish when I said I don't introduce myself...wanted to clarify...I don't just because I'm shy that way....where you said your face turned bright red...I would have tripled it....and honestly, I'm pretty low profile on 2peas :)
Just didn't want to scare you off if we ever get the opportunity to meet at a CHA :)
Hi Stacey,
ReplyDeleteI hope you do not mind that I am reading your blog. I just randomly ran across it on-line when looking up scrapbooking & you can imagine my shock when I realized it was you. You are EXTREMELY talented!
I just wanted to tell you that this particular entry about your dad brought tears to my eyes. My husband formally adopted my daughter & is the only father/Daddy she has ever known. Regardless of blood, he is Daddy, always has been & always will be. She is a 100% Daddy's girl. Worships him. Everything is Daddy, Daddy, Daddy. On occassion, when I watch them together, I have thought of the relationship that you have with your dad. :o) And I, too, remember the story that your Mom & Dad told about the first time you called him Dad. :o) I hope & pray that in 30 years, Giavanna's emotional connection & love for my husband is as close as you with your Dad.
Hope all is well,
Tanya (formerly C.) L.
