Just Share It

How do you get back to blogging when you have taken so many breaks?  I log into my computer every day and this is my home page.  Yet, I click to the next spot instead of stopping and posting.  But I have many stories to share and pages to show.  So, I guess you just share it.

Here are a couple of pages I made for the Scrapbooking From the Inside Out kit.  A new kit debuts in just a couple of days.  I love this first page because it features my feelings for Steve.  Love this guy...

I used the vehicles to symbolize how I would travel by any means to be by his side. I love our adventure together!

This next page is about my passion, home decorating.  I love to fix up my house and shop.  I love patterns and colors and paint.  It really makes me happy.

Photos are from Target, of course.  My favorite place ever!

Off to enjoy this beautiful summer day!  Hope you are too!

Be My Guest: Top Dog Dies

I am so excited to be guest designing for Top Dog Dies.  Top Dog Dies is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including Little B, Lawn Fawn, Taylored Expressions. Savvy Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs. Top Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace, a new line of intricate dies designed by British designer Stephanie Weightman.

I was sent a few gorgeous dies from their wafer-thin collection.  I love the beautiful detailing that looks just like lace.  I like clean and simple pages with some pizazz and the dies allow me to create within that style.

Look at how pretty the Flower Mosaic die is...so delicate!  I always like to mat my photos with something special and this does the trick.  I used my Cuttlebug to cut out the design.  It was quick and easy!

Can you believe the detail?  I decided to highlight it further by placing the Story Time wood banner along the top.  This page tells the story of the girls in our family, their ages and how they have been such a big part of my life. It is a special sentiment and the mosaic makes it look special too!

Here is the best news of all!  Top Dog Dies is sponsoring a giveaway!  The winner will receive $50 worth of exclusive dies from Top Dog Dies. Follow the link here.  You just need to register via the Rafflecopter app on the page to enter. Deadline to enter will be Monday, June 30 at midnight Central Standard Time. Get over there quickly!

I have a second project over at the Top Dog Dies blog.  Be sure to head over and check it out!  So much inspiration on the blog! Here is a sneak peek.

Thank you Top Dog Dies for asking me to guest design!

Inside the Art: Lost?

Right now the word Lost means more than one thing to me.  I have lost my way to my computer, hence the lack of blogging.  It is just too busy right now with end of the school year activities.  I also feel at a loss for answers.  I am being bothered by a reoccurring health issue.  Nothing big at the end of the day, but it is making me nuts.  I don't do well not knowing how to fix a problem.  Then I over fix or don't do enough and I always make the situation worse.   I hate the unknown.

I know there is a lesson in this all and one day I will laugh about that time....

I just wish that day was here now.

I created this page using the new kit from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out.  Our theme is direction.  I thought this map paper was stunning and did not want to cut into it too much.  So I went with a no photo layout!

I wanted to document how I sometimes lose my way in life.  I forget all the amazing blessings I have and get so wrapped up in the thing that isn't going my way.  It is a terrible cycle. I want to break it, but it is hard.

My words.  Some of the reasons why I let this happen again and again.

In the words of someone really smart and someone who obviously had a laid back personality....This too shall pass.

Knowing when or how or why or who will help or.....would be really great!

What I Love Wednesday: Numbers

I love numbers on a scrapbooking page.  It amazes me how significant something as simple as a number can be.  Numbers hold multiple meanings.  I used  numbers as a major focal point of a recent layout.

I wanted the numbers to be bold and big, like my friendship with this bunch. I used 1-9 to symbolize all of us. I used the Something Wonderful collection from Teresa Collins to make this page.

I created a banner along the top by layering some ephemera tags and chipboard.  I also put my journaling on paper since the base paper had a patterned background.

Here are the numbers up close.  I set the off with the You & Me tag as well as the title.  I dig those wood veneer pieces so much....see that heart!

I love how simple this layout is, yet it has boldness because of the colorful numbers!

Inside the Art: Glimpse of the Future

I see a glimpse of the future in my kids lately. Their faces have changed, that baby look is gone.  I see them independent, driven, more courageous.  I can see them as adults.  I decided to scrap these thoughts using the new June kit from Scrapbooking From the Inside Out.  The theme is Direction.

I used the lines of the ledger paper to help guide me with this design.  I placed my photos and some gray paper along the right hand side.

Look at  my son how grown he is...the long hair matters!  He is in a I-am-not-going-to-smile phase.  Love the wood pieces!

My thoughts, documented!  I love this kit....yummy Basic Gray and Jillibean Soup!
