Revisiting Summer

The one thing I love about scrapbooking with freedom is that you can scrap any event, regardless of the season.  I try not to worry too much about scrapping in order or including every moment on a page.  I found some pictures that I really liked and decided to remember our summer vacation.  I pulled out some Webster's Pages from my stash and went to work.

I love all my Webster's collections and the Our Travels line remains one of my all time favorites.  I love the sky and clouds paper.  I added in some wooden embellishments and stickers.  Webster's in my stash always means embellishments.

This page reminds me of how carefree we were in the summer and how much my children adore Maine.  It warms my heart because it is a place I remember so fondly!

Monday's Musings: Energy Changer

I spent the last week exploring the red rocks and canyons of Sedona, Arizona.  Steve and I had a beautiful vacation, just the two of us.  I was so struck by nature's beauty.  The doldrums of winter and all the sickness I had been feeling prior to leaving washed away.  It was amazing.

I can't get over the scenic views and the horizons.  We really felt energy like no other.  It was positive and uplifting.  I feel renewed.  There is work to be done, but I am up for changing energy and bad habits.

This page is fitting for how I am feeling.  Comfortable in my skin, aware of my faults, knowing what I want to change and loving me along the way.

This page was made using the Our Travels line by Adrienne Looman and Webster's Pages. One of my favorite collections of the season!

It was an amazing trip.  I will learn so much from every experience I had.  I believe this trip and all the events that went with it are meant to be life changers.

Monday's Musings: The Most Important Journey

I have taken important journeys in this life.  The most important one involves my best friend and husband, Steve.  He is the core of all things in my life.  We have built a family and home together.  It has been a great ride.

I wouldn't change any path we have taken, whether it has been smooth sailing or a rocky road.  It has and continues to change me.  I adore this person.

It has been the journey of my lifetime.  From our dog to our kids to our home to our pursuits and adventures, he is my love in every direction.  I can't imagine walking through life without him.  Our life is not perfect, but it is pretty great!

I used the Our Travels collection from Webster's Pages and Adrienne Looman to make this page.  I love how every element shares my feelings!

I can't wait to see what the rest of the adventure is like!

I Need a Vacation

Who needs an escape from crazy weather?  We are going stir crazy here as it is cold, cold, cold.  I need a vacation.  A change of pace, warmth, things to look at instead of dirty snow banks.  I just want some excitement.

A recent layout I made reminds me of how fun vacations are, especially when we are exploring with the kids.

This photo is from our trip to Baltimore and Washington, DC.  I used the very lovely and addicting Our Travels by Adrienne Looman and Webster's Pages.  I.am.in.love.

If we are speaking of travels, this was a page that I created for Winter CHA 2014.  It was made for the trade show and the Webster's Pages booth.  I sent a box off, satisfied with a lot of work...five pages in total.  I was so inspired by the new product.

If we are speaking of cold and snow....my box was grounded due to a snow storm.  My pages never made it to the show.  I have had pages up in the WP booth for a long time now so it was a big disappointment.  Some things are out of our control.

I combined some collections to create this page, like the wood frames from Allison Kreft and WP.  I love the new straws and how they add dimension to a layout.

I can't wait to use this collection for future travel photos!  I hope it is sooner than later!

Tuesday Tip: Match it Up!

For my most recent Webster's Pages layout, I decided to do some fun journaling.  I used color as my muse.

The New Year, New You line from Adrienne Looman is fantastic.  It is full of beautiful colors and ledger paper.  I love the idea of this collection....you are meant to journal with it.

I used the days of the week paper across my page and grounded all my elements on it.  I decided to use the columns as my place to journal.  I took it a step further by matching the color of each resolution tag with the color of the column.

Routine, respect, reach, exercises, and reconnect...key words that sum up where I want to go in 2014.  I put each key word down and journaled around it.

I added other touches like the flowers and pretty bow.

This page came together very quickly.  I just followed my gut and worked with the day paper, matching all the colors along the way!

Thanksgiving Decor Ideas

Yesterday, I was sharing a Christmas page and today I am back to Thanksgiving!  I made some table décor that I wanted to share.  The projects are easy to recreate, yet add a homemade touch to the day.

First, I made place holders using the paperclips from the Family Traditions collection.  I simply tied off some burlap twine and wrapped it around the napkin.   Then I used the clip to hold the name tag!

I also made a file folder to hold the Thanksgiving prayer we read.  It looked so pretty on the table.  The file folder gave it a really special touch.

I placed the Perfect Accent and some stickers on the front.  The button acts as the closure.  I threaded the burlap through it and then wrapped it around the file to keep it closed.

Both projects added a special touch to our holiday!

Monday's Musings: The Fall Flew By

It just went too fast.  Back to school and Nathan's birthday.  Our tenth wedding anniversary and Halloween.  Now, Thanksgiving is only a few days away.

The older I get, the faster it goes.  Fall is my favorite time of the year.  It is cozy and warm.  I love wanting to hibernate, yet still loving being outside.  It is the best.

This page screams fall to me...warm colors, natural wood, pumpkins and texture.

I used the Family Traditions line by Adrienne Looman for Webster's Pages.  How lucky that I get to design with three amazing lady's product!

I used the new Quick Pick ribbon on this page!  Webster's has the best textiles!

And then there is this handsome boy.  The boy who is growing up in a blink of an eye.  Time is going by so fast.  He talks on the phone now and was invited to his first Friday night party (which was completely supervised!).  Now is the time to really make him feel loved and secure so he can make the right decisions.

I need to hold tight and savor every minute!

Have A Lot To Say: Layer It!

I love how paper collections come with so many journaling cards, stickers and die-cuts with words.  Those elements typically get the creative thoughts moving, and inspire me to go in a specific direction with a page.

Take this page!  I wanted the neutral base to pop off the woodgrain paper.  But then I needed other color.  I was drawn to so many of the typography elements so I decided to just use them all!

I layered the majority of my stickers and die-cuts from the Family Traditions collection by Adrienne Looman and Webster's Pages at the top of my page.  It balances out the woodgrain and compliments the white space on the bottom.

Not sure how to edit down?  Just use it all in smaller pieces, layered!  It will give you a good result!

October Means Fall!

October means the month of leaves, pumpkins, Halloween costumes and scarecrows!  I love fall.  The majority of photos I have are from this season!  I am kicking off the month with a fall inspired layout!

I used the Family Traditions collection by Adrienne Looman for Webster's Pages!  This line is great for fall.  I love the little critters that are scattered throughout!

I put this collection up against Kraft as it is warm like fall.  I so love the buttons in the Webster's collections this release!

I used several paperclips on this page.  I love arrows and wanted them to point right to the photo.  I love to use hard object like metals with other elements like the stickers.

I am ready for sweaters and boots and beef stew and fall family fun!

It Feels Like Christmas

It is CHA time!  There are sneak peeks and reveals happening everywhere.  Its the most wonderful time of the year!  Webster's Pages is releasing 6 new collections, two each from Brandin, Allison Kreft and Adrienne Looman.  Each collection is so unique and varied...it really feels like I am designing for three different teams.  At the same time, they all have that beautiful Webster's feel and quality!

I have been creating like crazy using the collections and can't wait to share.  Today, I am showing a layout that uses the Its Christmas line by Allison Kreft.  I dig her stuff, plain and simple.  She gets trends and funk and uniqueness.

This page came together really quickly because of the neutral base, those awesome journaling cards and that cool diagonal paper.  I divided this page into thirds, but created a heavy bottom.  Scrapbooking is the only time where I want a heavy bottom.

I cut just the Christmas Love from the journaling card.  I love how the two cards together convey the emotion of the photo!

You need to check out all the collections over at the Webster's Pages blog...the embellishments are awesome and the chipboard buttons are back!  I love those things.  There are metal frames that are fantastic as well!  Good stuff!  There are some giveaways so be sure to head over soon!

Summer is in Effect

Well, for the kids and me...Steve is still there for two more days.  I feel bad for him as he has had to set the alarm and get up each morning.  The kids and I are enjoying a more relaxed pace.  We are turning screens off from 9:00-3:00 each day.  It has been glorious.

I walked into Nathan's room the other day and he and Ella were sitting on his bed reading.  They even forgot it was 3:00 yesterday and swam right past the turn-back-on-hour.

This is what our summer will look like this July.

I used the new Citrus Squeeze collection from Webster's Pages and Adrienne Looman.  This collection is addicting...the color scheme is really great!

It is Webster's Pages so of course I had to hand cut a lot of the elements.

I love the little tags and all the typography.

I am not really a beach person.  The sun and I are not friends.  But my kiddos love it so I will endure it.  Especially since it takes them away from screens!

Monday's Musings: Smores Might Taste Good...

But they are not good for the 40+ year old body.  It is amazing how things shift and ache and creak.  Two weeks of no exercise and a couple of extra smores equals downward shifting.  I don't remember it being like this when I was younger.

My BFF Marcia and I would get extra cheese pizza and pizza rolls from a local place at least once a week.  Tina, the other BFF, would drive us to get hot chocolate chip pie with ice cream.  I once ate two Jim Dandies in one sitting.

College was full of Dominos and Doritos.  I ate enough ranch dressing to own stock in Hidden Valley.  I put that stuff on every single piece of cafeteria food.

Even in my 30's, I loved having crusty bread with every meal and ice cream every night.

Childhood, youth...full of yummy and yucky food stories.  That is a part of it all.

Now, I live through my kids.  Watch them rock the smores out.  Sure I have one...it is hard to stop there, but that shifting and aching and creaking

I used the new Adrienne Looman/Webster's Citrus Squeeze collection for this.  I have been so drawn to the reds, whites and blues of this collection.  I made myself use the green and I am sooo glad I did.  It is a great color to have as a base!  I am in love with all the elements that can be cut from this line.

The bird and fun circle, the tab and even the So Much Fun label...all cut out!

Even though I can't eat like I used to, there is such a thing as cheat days.  I am going to cherish those!

What's New on Wednesday?

What's new this Wednesday?  I am showing you the newly released collection from Webster's Pages...we have a new designer in the family.  Adrienne Looman has created two beautiful collections full of vibrant colors and interesting patterns!

I can't quite get enough of the Citrus Squeeze line...reds, greens, blues and whites!  It is refreshing and perfect for summer!

I wanted to show off the white patterns in the line and pop them with the citron and blue!  I love elements that can be hand cut to create unique embellishments and this collection does not disappoint!  It is a stunner.

The Webster's family is getting bigger and better every release.  I am one lucky girl to be a part of it!
