When One Door Closes

Okay, raise your hand if you dislike this well known saying?  I have mixed feelings about it.  Because you don't use it unless something you like, have enjoyed or wanted is no longer available.  It can be used day to day when you don't get a certain job or when a relationship doesn't work out.  We used it a ton when we lost the first house we ever bid on.

So today I use it regarding a scrappy goodbye.  My year at Pink Paislee is over!  It flew by so fast and was beyond fun!  I am so honored that I was chosen to work alongside so much talent.  It is a fabulous company to work with...so generous and well, who doesn't love the products?  The new design team will be announced next week and it is bittersweet, but I am excited for the lucky gals who will get the opportunity of a lifetime!

Here is my last official project for them.  I mentioned it was my last official project, but it is not the last you see of me using Pink Paislee. I am a forever fan.

I used the beautiful Father Christmas collection here!  The Santas are just so pretty and old-fashioned.  I wanted to use the circles as major focal points so I created this grid!  Look at Ella's face in these photos.  It was the first time she would let Santa come near her!

So one door closes.  The bright side and the side I like to live on...is that others will open.  Here is to whatever surprises lie ahead!

  2. What a neat page... I love how you used the old fashioned Santas in the circular elements!

I am not sure where my head has been buried... I didn't even know there was a new dt call at Pink Paislee, lol! Sorry your year with them is up, but I know you will be movin' on to something just as fun and awesome! :)

  3. I feel for you Stacey. It is a hard spot to be in. You brought a certain something to their team. I am totally biased of course because I am a big fan of your work. I look forward to your continued loveliness with the Nook kit and excited to see what you do with Teresa Collins stuff.

  4. I feel your pain. I had to give up something for a different opportunity. I am so glad I feel like I made the right choice. I know it is sad...but like you said another door will open. You are an amazing designer. You are just being discovered and before you know it...everyone will be knocking at your door.

  12. Stacey, I feel for you because while it isn't as huge a deal as Pink Paislee is, my time with a kit club I have designed a year with is over at the end of the month, and the last kit felt bittersweet.

It's like you were made for their products, you certainly rocked it out. I have enjoyed seeing what you've done with them.

Now...the thing about that saying. I don't dislike it. Because the way I see it is this:

one door closes, and while it may be something you really wanted/enjoyed...it closes for a reason...and the other door that opens may contain something beyond your wildest dreams. I've lived this, and I am confident that your fabulocity will find it's way to other places!!!

so I am sending cyber hugs to you.

This page is stunning, as is all of your work!!! When one door closes another opens - the saying is so very true!!!
