It is interesting for me to go to non-family events where there is a bit of structure or not, and see how my kids are going to act. They are in daycare with other kids, but it is at their Nana's house. They haven't gone to a camp program or Parks & Rec activity, yet. Nathan will start preschool in the fall so my curiosity is especially piqued. We had a birthday party today. They needed to share, listen to the young man trying to put on a magic show, and transition well (can you tell I am a teacher who way overanalyzes things! LOL!). I sit here tonight proud of how they acted, how they used their manners and found new friends.
There is one moment that stands out to me the most though. There was this huge pirate ship playscape thing. It was about 7 feet high. Ella was on it and Nathan was across the way on another playscape the same height. He was keeping an eye out for her and, at one point, yelled out to her, "Ella, be careful up there." Steve and I caught eyes and smiled. They are tight--they have this whole relationship outside of the two of us and it is awesome!
Here is more proof:
Look at how they are holding hands, the shared smile. It melts my heart! Journaling reads: Yes, you two have your moments. But for the most part, you really are best friends. You look out for each other, play together constantly, and show genuine affection. Hold onto that always!
I hope they do!
How wonderful is this!!!! I just adore the LO, all the detail and great colors. The story behind this is so moving. I know that my Evan is always so worried for his baby brother, looking after him to make sure that he does not get hurt, even sharing his ice cream with him!!! You have done a wonderful job with your children!!! Wishing you a blessed Sunday!
ReplyDelete" It does my heart good" !!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous layout! I'm jealous my two seem to fight all the time, but they are teenagers....
ReplyDeleteOk, now, that photo is just so sweet! As is the layout, as well, Stacey. I just love it. I have to say that my three are the best at friends, the three amigos as we call them here. I just love how close they all are. Puts such a smile on my face. I should do a layout like you did about yours. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo of your children. Love the LO and the journaling!! I never had a close sibling in age to bond with like that, maybe that is why I am always in awe watching my own children and the special relationship they have with each other. You did a great job capturing it!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love that orange against the blue background! Great look!

What a lovely moment you captured. My son and daughter had/have that same kind of relationship. And it truly does melt your heart. I will say we had a few rough years while they were trudging through middle school. But, hey, middle school...that should be all the explanation needed. lol! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful layout!
