School Rules

School is back and I am feeling it!  I really love my caseload this year and am feeling focused and enthusiastic.  But, I am tired!  The adjustment in the daily routine is tough.  Fall sports and afterschool activities are in full swing.  I took this whole week off from scrapbooking as I had zero energy.   It will balance itself out, soon.

In the meantime, I am sharing a mini album that I made using the new Recorded collection by Allison Kreft for Webster's Pages.  I think this is an all time favorite collection for me...in the top five for sure.  I used the journaling cards as the pages.

I held the book together with the buttons and twine!

Each pages features journaling about our school morning routine.  I used the paperclips and overlaps throughout.

I used an overlay on the last pages...these polaroid frames are great!  I adhered mine with the button and twine!

Minis are fun...I like to keep mine simple and clean!  Recording everyday routines in a mini album is a fun way to document our family history!

and our family history certainly involves school.

Sprinkling Some Love: Part 2

I shared some of the inside pages of my Webster's Pages Sprinkles craftbox project!  I made a mini album from the goodies.  Most of my ideas came from using the trim in unusual ways.  It was fun to explore.

Here are the rest of the pages.

I went with a pictureless page here...just love the papers and made a heart with the trim.

This mini was really fun to make!  I love the Sprinkles concept and I know you will too!

Sprinkling Some Love

So I am sure that many of you have heard about the new monthly Sprinkles Craft boxes that Webster's Pages is offering.  It is a small box full of treats just for you...because you deserve it.  The little boxes are only $10.00....WHAT!

The September one sold out quickly...if you are looking for information about October's box...go here!

I got to design with the September box and it was soo much fun!  I kept my mini clean and simple, yet it is so pretty.  A gift for a special friend...

Here are a few pages.  I will share the rest this week!

First, the cover...all I added was trim and the accent.  I love the metal clip.

A little unique twisting of ribbon and little touches...the pages themselves are so pretty, even without the extras.

Here is the dimension...

The book will make a great gift...a sprinkling of love from one friend to another!  If you are interested, there are downloadable, step-by-step instructions over at the Webster's website.

It has been a Girl Land kinda week

It started off last week with the Father Daughter dance.  A girl's night dinner tonight where I shared laughs with good friends.  Extra snuggles with my babies as I really they are growing fast.

And, the new Girl Land collection from Websters!  I have a couple of projects to share with you over the next few days...including this coupon book I made as a Mother's Day gift.  I used the papers from the Girl Land collection to whip it up...easy to make and a special, meaningful gift.

I created a traditional matchbook album...but gave it a twist...a cutout window!  It adds some cool dimension and presents a surprise when the book is opened.

This is what it looks like opened...see the cutout and how the yellow circle is popped up and through a bit!

The intro card let's Nana know what this album is all about!

I cut one of the sheets of paper into these awesome square motifs and put coupons on the back.

I purposefully chose motifs that matched meaningful traditions or moments.  Like this one:

I love homemade gifts, especially when you have a Nana that has everything!

For instructions on how to make this book, head over to the Creating Keepsakes Blog.  It is featured there as a part of the Girl Land celebration!

I have a bit of a surprise for you today over at the Webster's pages blog...get a glimpse of what I love about being a girl!

And don't laugh...LOL!

WOW! Am I In Love!

on sooo many levels!  In love with the In Love collection by Webster's Pages.  In love with the new movie that Brandin created to celebrate shipping week.

And mostly in love with the idea that some lucky, lucky Webster's fan can win a $500.00 shopping spree!  That is not a typo...can  you imagine a spree that big!  It can buy you one of every single thing plus more!

To find out how to win...race to the Webster's blog...check out the movie and follow the directions!

To leave you with some motivation, here is a recent Webster's project!  I created a quote book about weddings and marriage!  I kept the design simple since this one is all about the words and the advice.  Plus, it allows for small photos to be placed inside at a later date!

I created the white flower using one of the gorgeous tulle trims from In Love!  I wanted to use lots of trim to give the book elegance and texture.

I used In Love papers and trim as well as Dazzle Me Gems!  I put in dots of Sparklers here and there!  Love this collection and I know you will too!

So Lucky to be Mom

Today, I am feeling grateful.  My kids mean the whole world to me.  I have the unique and very wonderful opportunity to watch my child in his school environment.  I am not a nuisance and don't intentionally seek him out.  Except for today...there was a special event at school.  Because of my proximity, I was able to go participate with him.  There were smiles on his part and on mine.

Tomorrow, Ella has her dance recital and I can't wait for that moment either!  To sit from afar and watch a confident young girl shine is such a treat!

They really make me want to be a better person, a better wife and a better friend.

I recently made this little mini album to explore and reflect upon motherhood.  I use the Webster's Pages journaling cards for this...so easy to put together with the cards.  Warning:  This is photo heavy!

Aren't the little Webster's goodies the best...the buttons, pins, whimsies!  I am so in love with the Whimsies!   I used the Ladies and Gents journaling set and stickers for this.  This collection turned out to be a favorite! I put this mini together in just one day.  Using my own handwriting, I simply recorded some notes!  I will treasure it and I hope my kids will too.

I am blessed.
Only smiles!

For my Kids

Not sure if I mentioned it before, but Nathan and Ella are sooo into looking at my old scrapbooks.  Well, I should call them their old scrapbooks.  They love the photos and especially enjoy hearing the stories.  It makes me realize that I started this hobby to do just that.  Record their lives.

Ella still brings up the old house.  "I miss my old house." are her exact words.  They love it here, but I think we are all missing our routine.  Nathan will tell me about how he dreams of the house at night and remembers what we did there.  So I decided to make a mini-album to record the stories behind our old house.  Every room really does tell a story.

Since I had Word Weds. at the Pink Paislee blog and the focus in on the journaling and stories, I finally felt motivated to get it completed.  Here is my 8 X 8 Artisan Element Canvas album!

Since the album is a bit bigger than some of the true minis, I decided to have the side by side pages be cohesive.  I simply treated them as smaller double page layouts.  It came together very quickly because of how complete the Pink Paislee collections are.  I loved using the Flip Notes!

To see more, head over to the Pink Paislee blog!  I used mostly elements from the 365 Degrees collection:  Flip Notes, Die-cuts, Cork Buttons, Rub-ons, as well as the Red Weathered Wood Expressions Alphabet and Artisan Elements

It was moving to me to write these stories down.  It was as if I relived those beautiful moments again.  And now, my kids can as well.  We are making new memories and someday I will have a book about our new home.  That is how life works.  It goes by so quickly and I am afraid that stories will be lost if they don't get written down!

A gift made for my babies.  Now if only I can get them to stop fighting over it...LOL!
