My post yesterday was about finding inspiration. I have said it a million times and will probably say it a million more, that I also scrap as a form of therapy. Much cheaper than seeing a counselor...LOL!
It has been a month since we lost James. After reflecting on it all, I am ready to scrap it. To record the history, give a face to my feelings and release it. I made this layout as a tribute to my sister's strength and grace.
Journaling reads: I am inspired by you, my younger sister. Michelle, I am amazed by your strength, astonished by your grace, in awe of how well you handled yourself. You giggled when things were funny, grieved openly when you needed to, and made decisions when the time came. You have looked for the purpose, which is helping us all to heal. During trying times, we see a person's true character. I saw...And I am left speechless.
I uploaded this over at Two Peas this morning and when I went back to click on it, I noticed that it is the Featured Layout of the Day. That is a first for me so I am honored and appreciate that it is for such a special layout!
Thanks for letting me share, for letting me heal! And, Michelle, I love you!
PS. Head on over to Cosmo Cricket to see how you can help others in need! Such a worthwhile opportunity!
You are on fire! Way to go! Beautiful layout and beautiful tribute. At work, a colleague of mine and I offer scrapbooking in particular to the palliative parent of young children. It offers the chance to leave a legacy or to have a closing project. It really can be a healing medium. Thank you for sharing such a personal experience. It will touch many people.
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful, in so so many ways. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome and awe-inspiring layout. What a beautiful tribute, and wonderful sentiment that I am sure your sister will greatly appreciate. You have a wonderful gift, and this is such a lovely way of showcasing it. My sincere condolensces on the loss of this beautiful angel.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! And, not only is it cheaper than therapy, it's prettier! :) Congrats on the 2Peas Featured Layout! I left you some love over there. :D
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you to take this step in healing!!! The LO is oustanding...the journaling heartfelt and most of all thank you for sharing this with us!!!! It is an example of the wonderful person that you truly are!!! Much love to you today and congrats on the 2 peas!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely expression of your feelings toward your sister! The page is gorgeous. I can see why it is the featured layout of the day! You deserve it! Glad to hear you are healing to this point of "laying it out there".
ReplyDeleteA small aside: I giggled at the comment about scrapping being cheaper than a counselor. After my divorce I saw a counselor for a short while to be sure I handled things as well as possible for my children. After going the creative route and the counseling route....ummmmm, I think the counselor is actually cheaper! LOL!
Beautiful page stacey! Congrats on the feature! woohoo!!!
