Behind the Page: Abstract or Literal

Ahh...Easter is almost upon us. A special time to celebrate all our blessings with family.  I usually host a lovely brunch with my sisters and mom/dad.  So much to get ready for...

In celebration of the holiday, I was asked to create an Easter themed layout for Webster's.  I went with a story that doesn't cry out bunnies and chicks. I still wanted an Easter theme...but wanted to emphasis family.  Since it is not about fun Easter festivities like egg hunts, I couldn't go too literal.

That leaves abstract.  Okay, eggs equal ovals.  I wanted to add some layers to the bottom of my strips of paper.  Uneven layers.  So I decided to put different patterned paper ovals there.  I even turned a couple of them into "eggs".  I like how they add curve and motion.  I used the Everyday Poetry line to make this layout...not Easter-themed at all, yet it works!

The Silhouette and Doilie help add to the ovals!

Hopefully, they give the feel of eggs without being too themey...

and the story behind the photo...

I guess literal is good and abstract isn't so bad either.  It is all how you look at it!
