Happy Thursday!  Today I am sharing a page that showcases my more girlie side....there are flowers and ribbons.

I like it clean and simple though so I kept those elements to a minimum.

I made this page for the May kit from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out.   The focus was on Intuition, and these girls have strong instincts.  We often talk about signs and how there are no coincidences.

I hand cut some flowers to place under the photo and also cut the hello wording!

I also used the journaling pocket to add color and record my thoughts.  It is a soft page that reminds me how much I enjoy Webster's Pages, which is featured in the kit!

Soccer, Dance, PPTS, oh my!

May is crazy, busy, fun, stressful and full of family activities.  It has hurt my scrapbooking and posting, but life is about living it!

To document the effect that soccer season has on it, I made this layout!  My kids love it and I really love to watch as well.

This is Nathan from a few years ago.  He has come a long way with sports.  He has always loved his teammates and the team spirit that comes with it.

I used the Urban Market collection from Teresa Collins.  I love the navy!

I put the focus on the tags in the collection!

The embellishments from Teresa's collections are my absolute favorite things!

Holiday weekend is upon us!  We actually have a quiet one and I am looking forward to every second.  Scrapping anyone?

Altered Art: Personalized CD case

I made a sweet little project using the Limited Edition kit featuring Allison Kreft goodies!  It is on sale over at Webster's Pages.  The kit is just great...full of so much for such a great price.  I put mine to use on an altered project.

I turned a plastic CD cover into a case that holds many special goodies!  I used mine to hold a CD of photos.  I also included a gift card holder and some photos.  I attached a note to the photos using a journaling card from the kit.

I made the Wood frames a centerpiece of the project, using two in different ways.  The paperclip and Perfect Accent are all in the kit!

Isn't it pretty!  Perfect for pages or projects!

Inside the Art: Loving the Hearts

I went heart crazy with the newest kit from Scrapbooking From the Inside Out.  I love all the hearts in the kit, both with embellishments and paper.  I made them a major focal point on one of my pages.

This page is about Steve and I.  I had strong feelings early on, I knew we were going to end up together.  Intuition is the theme of the kit and I knew it was a perfect time to share that.  I love all the soft pinks with whites.  It is soft and romantic.

I hand cut some hearts from a sheet of American Crafts paper and hung them from the other hearts.  I also love that little fox!

A little pop of yellow was perfect for this page!  I love the kits from SFTIO...they really motivate me to tell stories that I wouldn't normally scrap about!  Liberating!

At Home: Pop Star Party

Happy Sunday!  We celebrated Ella's 8th birthday yesterday with a very fun Pop Star theme party!  There are so many good resources on Pinterest for finding amazing ideas for party décor, games and food!  I lifted them and interpreted them so the ideas worked within the supplies I could find!

Here are some shots from the party!

I went with a blue, pink and black color scheme, mixing in other brights like yellow, purple and green in very small doses!  I love to set the table when I have a party.  It creates a very festive feel!

I made a centerpiece using traditional star bursts.  I got both at the dollar store.  I also bought packages of the silver stores from the dollar store and Party City.  To make the dimensional one is the center, I folded two stars in half.  The I placed the fold back to back and stapled!  So easy and the stars then stood upright.  I added confetti and that fun inflatable microphone that I got from Oriental Trading!

I also love to set up a dessert table!  I added several silver stars around the backdrop, taping some to the wall and hanging others from the ceiling.  They were kinda boring so I added the crepe paper circles to the middle of each large star.  I got them from the cupcake toppers as shown in the picture below.  I already had the pink paper lantern so I added it in to make is seem like a disco ball!  No joke, the backdrop probably cost under $15.00.

We found this Rock Star badge at the dollar store!  Score!  I hung it right above the cupcake tray.  I filled jars and plates with Ring Pops, Pop Rocks and gumballs.  All items from either Oriental Trading or the Dollar Store.  I used bright pink frosting for the cupcakes and topped each one with a brightly colored topper.  I got these from Party City and they helped me solidify the color scheme.

I found a really cool idea for a different type of cupcake while browsing Pinterest!  You can make microphone cupcakes using colored sugar cones, a cupcake inserted into the top, dark frosting and string licorice for the "wire".  My niece, Jesse, made these for me and they came out so great!  She got the cones at Walmart!  She also filled the inside of the microphone cones with candy.

I also dipped pretzels into chocolate and called them Drum Sticks!

As each girl entered, she received a VIP pass!  I lucked out and found these at Party City.  They are really invitations, but I cut them.  I only needed one package...for $8.00, they were worth it.  The plastic badges and strings were found at Oriental Trading.

Each girl also had the chance to decorate a paper guitar, found at Oriental Trading.  They loved this station at the party!  Ella came up with the idea to have every girl sign her guitar!

We had a Pop Star hair and make-up station where the girls could put on tattoos. They also had their hair sprayed with pink or purple strips. Each star got a inflatable microphone and sunglasses! Then we were ready for karaoke! I can't tell you how many times they sang, Let It Go. The smiles sum it up though!

This pop princess had a blast!  It was a fun party!

Inside the Art: Create

It is a new month and with that comes a new kit from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out.  This month is all about Intuition!  What a fun topic!  The kit has all these cool elements like light bulbs, clouds, and sequins.  I had fun creating this page about my Ella.

She is a creative spirit through and through!

I love her thought process and the way she looks at things.  She is witty and inventive.  I hope she makes a life in a creative space.  I scattered my title all around the top, conveying a real freedom!

Fun stuff, huh?  Check out the Intuition kit and explore your inner feelings!

School Days

My youngest is turning a year older tomorrow!  I can't believe how time has flown. It is crazy!  Life is full of soccer and play dates and school events.  I like to capture them all and scrap about our lives.  Time is fleeting.

I made this page using Daily Stories from Teresa Collins.  I love the mix of colors in this line!

I went layer happy on this page....I really like the elements in each collection and like to cluster!

I just got a new box of Teresa goodies and I can't wait to create!  Be on the look out for some exciting stuff from Teresa!

Its That Season

My busy time at work is kicking off.  It is tiring just thinking about it.  But I am determined to set priorities and try to not sweat the small stuff.

Today, I am quickly posting a recent page that showcases a photo of my daughter.  I love when you get the photos of just right moments.  Ella glaring at me, giving me "the look" is perfect.  I can't wait to show her kids this one day.

I kept the page simple and light in color.  I wanted those fiery eyes to pop out!  I added in some Kraft Polaroid squares to make the photo stand out.  I also added tiny embellishments like the wood veneer banner and the enamel dots.  Love Teresa's Daily Stories line!

I use my Xyron Teresa Collins Clear Hold Adhesive to hold down the wood veneer.  It is my new favorite product! It comes with the adhesive kit!  Seriously, I can't live without this stuff!

I am off to try and relax on this Friday night.  Scrapping and sleeping to be done!

Monday's Musings: Energy Changer

I spent the last week exploring the red rocks and canyons of Sedona, Arizona.  Steve and I had a beautiful vacation, just the two of us.  I was so struck by nature's beauty.  The doldrums of winter and all the sickness I had been feeling prior to leaving washed away.  It was amazing.

I can't get over the scenic views and the horizons.  We really felt energy like no other.  It was positive and uplifting.  I feel renewed.  There is work to be done, but I am up for changing energy and bad habits.

This page is fitting for how I am feeling.  Comfortable in my skin, aware of my faults, knowing what I want to change and loving me along the way.

This page was made using the Our Travels line by Adrienne Looman and Webster's Pages. One of my favorite collections of the season!

It was an amazing trip.  I will learn so much from every experience I had.  I believe this trip and all the events that went with it are meant to be life changers.

Monday's Musings: When You Love to the Moon

It is amazing to me....this thing called love.  When you find it, you will do anything for it.  You will more easily hear hard truths.  You will more easily say I am sorry.  You will definitely laugh more and count your blessings.

This thing called love has a name.  His name is Steve.  I love him as a friend, husband, fellow educator, father, son and person.  Because of him and I, my life has gone in directions I never expected.

I love him to the moon and back and around a thousand times again.  I expect that as we move forward in life we will have to shoulder our share of sad and difficult.  We have done that before and will do so again.  That sad and difficult won't last forever.

I'll be his and he'll be mine just like the tag says.  I used the April kit from Scrapbooking From the Inside Out to make this page.  Love the blue!

When you love to the moon, you often feel very lucky and content.  I am lucky and content.

Having Fun with Paper

Having fun with paper as I celebrate having fun with friends.  I made this page using the April kit from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out.  It has lots of fun Webster's Pages inside and I am a huge WP fan.  I did lots of fussy cutting on this one!

So lucky to have an amazing group of friends! There is nothing like just letting go and having fun. Everyone just accepts one another!

I love the party table feel!  Be sure to head over to the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out blog.  Each Monday, I will share some insights into my pages!  It is really a cool concept that I hope you will check out!

Life is about the stories!  I love to share mine!

Inside the Art: Celebrate

It is April and with a new month comes a new kit from Scrapbooking From the Inside Out.  This month's kit is called Celebrate and it features Webster's Pages and Jillibean Soup.  These are two companies I love!

I decided to make pages with happy themes that celebrate the good in my life.  One of my pages is about how I have just finished P90X3.  90 plus days to hard work and dedication.  I pushed my body and my mind.  I saw changes in my strength and proved that I have overcome an injury from a couple of years back.

I kept this page simple, letting the bold orange pop!  I incorporated the typewriter as a symbol of documenting change!

There are cool, vibrant colors in the Jillibean Soup pages...so much fun!

Look at some of the very cool embellishments from this kit!  I am very much enjoying scrapping with the SFTIO goodies!  You should check them out!

I also plan to enjoy working out, mixing up P90X workouts from all the series.  I want to see how in shape I can get at age 40 plus!

Scrapping Winter Photos

I am scrapping some winter photos, but I can't wait for it to be over!  I decided to make my winter photos happier by using soft, but vibrant colors and happy images.

Here is my most recent page using Allison Kreft's line, Hello World.

This collection has some darling images.  It can be used for babies, but has so many other uses.  I jazzed up the wood veneer with the Love word and layering the hot air balloon over the top.  That is hand cut from a sheet of paper.  Then I just added smaller touches to balance out the large balloon element.

I love those foxes!  I built my title using the sticker sheet in the collection as well as hand cutting some letters.  I adore the colors in this line!  Happy...happy...happy!
